A works meeting about a plant conversion, held in a building that had already been through one.
The brief
Two hundred and eighty employees, four hours, difficult content: the client was moving a production line and wanted the conversation to happen somewhere other than the canteen.
What we did
Theatre seating across the short axis with the compressors behind the audience, not the stage — so nobody had to talk over the machines. Blackout panels in by 07:00, daylight back for the afternoon workshops. Two roaming microphones and a queue system for questions, which mattered more than any technical decision we made.
How it went
Ninety-one questions from the floor in ninety minutes. The works council asked to hold the next three meetings in the same room.
